If someone training to be a dentist gets a criminal record in the UK would this effect their ability to become a full time dentist. Please can you post links and sources if you have them. Cheers.

What’s my best recourse to follow up on being lied to by a dentist’s office manager?

Prncesslea asked:

I opened my mail this morning and found out that the dentist office I took my daughters to last Sept. 27 wants to charge me for services after telling me I didn’t have to pay.

I was very happy to learn that I would not have to put forth any of my own money towards the consultation or the dentist fees for work recommended.

I received a bill, sent out on Oct 4, 2007 for $132. The office manager told me she made a mistake but I was responsible anyway.

Some people might believe that $123 is not enough to make such a fuss over. Dentist’s patients and/or their parents are repeatedly shocked by the expense of treatment and lack of insurance coverage. When we find out it’s going to cost us $0 it’s very exciting, I placed trust in these people but because of their negligence and lack of professional skills I feel betrayed and ripped off. They need to take some responsibility.

What measures can I take to push them to act responsibly?
So that it’s clear, I was told my insurance covered the consultation therefore I did not owe a co-payment.

I have to take my old dentist to small claims court for work under the standard of care?

eth phyap ratava! asked:

I have never gone to small claims and I am terrified. I have asked for a refund for the work that the dentist originally performed as well as the work that I have to do to repair it, is that fair? Should I have only asked for a refund? Please help, I have tried to be fair to the dentist through all of this, but what is fair to me?
In California
Will the court deem my request fair for asking for both a refund for her work and for the repairs?

DeAnna asked:

My son is 3, and I took him to a dentist and they would not let me go back with him. Needless to say, I left and found a different dentist. Is this legal? It was just for a cleaning and checkup, and it was his first time. But they don’t allow parents out of the waiting area for any reason.
My new dentist was surprised by it, they want the parent with the children.
The office is Small Smiles Dental Clinic in Columbus, OH.

I went to a new dentist and thought I was completely covered under my mom’s dental insurance. They appearently thought I was too, so I signed a statement which came to $0!!! I didn’t have to pay for anything, I’m covered, that’s what they told me. Ok, so then I get a call saying I’m not covered at all, so now I have to pay for the whole bill. Am I responsible for their mistake? I have already paid for half.

What would happen if I refuse to pay my dentist who charges me fees for missing the appointment?

My dentist is charging me $30 because I was outside the U.S. and wasn’t able to cancel my appointment (I did not bring the phone number with me). I strongly believe my situation is justifiable. If I refuse to pay them the fee, what would happen? Will it affect my credit score? Thanks.

Dentist and the malpractice insurance they are required to carry. What is lawsuit protocol?

Nevada W asked:

I am in medical malpractice settlement negotiations with a dentist. Her insurance company was handling the negotiations, then the dentist license expired and the insurance company dropped the dentist. The dentist obtained a new policy from a new insurance company. Now the original insurance company has dropped out of negotiations. Is it possible that the original insurance company wants me to file suit against the dentist, and then the new insurance company will have to defend the dentist? Or, because the first insurance company received the initial settlement letter with notice of intent to sue, they will have to carry on and defend the dentist even though they no longer have the dentist as a client. Please clarify the typical procedure in this type of situation. Thanks a million! N.
Thanks for the info. I do have an attorney. But I do not want to sue and want to settle. The original insurance Co. made an offer, then we countered..then the Ins Co. dropped the dentist, and did not responded to the counter offer. SO, of course the attorney wants to sue cause he will make the big bucks. I want to settle because we were on track to settle. I just can’t figure why the original insurance company would want to go to court unless they really don’t care one way or another because the dentist is no longer a concern to them in the long run??? Tks. for you input.
