What age did your dentist tell you to bring your child in for his/her first visit?

While I was pregnant with my daughter my dentist told me as soon as baby gets her first tooth she should come in for her first dental appt.I asked around and one friend was told not until around 3 another the same as me first tooth first visit.Info online is back and forth varying depending on the dentist.

Just curious how many other people may have been told to bring the child in before 3 years old.If your baby didnt go in before 3 what age did they see the dentist for the first time?How was the visit?

I know your doctor has to write a referral before the dentist will do anything, but I was wondering does Medicaid cover the price if it has to be done during pregnancy? Thanks!
