How does a dentist fix a broken tooth?

Ry asked:

My bottom front teeth chipped in the back a while ago, it built up with plaque and it seemed to be like a real tooth. Well, I started taking more care of them and while flossing today about half of the back of one of my front teeth fell out. So about 1/4 of the total tooth (and it’s from the gum line)

How will a dentist fix this? Filling/bonding, cap/crown? Will I need a root canal?

If the tooth is rotten underneath you may need a root canal or a filling, depending on this you may need to have a crown or you could just have the tooth taken out and then have a bridge put it its place which will look very natural and are permanent but you do need to go and see the dentist as soon as possible as the tooth will just rot more and will end up having to be taken out.
    hope this helped. Lil.
