Most dental school programs are four academic years, and though most do not require a four year degree as an entry requirement, it is very recommended! Also, most if not all require applicants to score well on the DAT (Dental Aptitude Test). Dental schools are getting more and more competitive these days, and you are competing with many very qualified applicants. My advice to you is to pick a dental school or two that you really would like to attend and make an appointment to visit the campus and chat with the Dean of Admissions in his/her office. This will really help you to focus on that particular school’s requirements. Good Luck, and I hope this was helpful. Andrew P

It takes 4 years of dental school and a region exam board test to get your license. OR instead of the test you can get your license thru a 1 year residency program.

I’d pick a lot of school to apply to. I remember I chose 13 schools. All the ones from California rejected me, that’s 5 right there. I had some interviews on the east coast but ultimately only 1 accepted me. So which worked great because I wanted to get into dental school. Cast your net out wide and don’t be too picky about schools.
