I meant to get in before we got pregnant, it happened sooner than expected and my husband’s job dental insurance policy had a lapse for some reason. Anyhow, now I am pregnant and havent been to dentist in a long time. Is it safe to get a cleaning while pregnant? What if there is a cavity, can it be filled during pregnancy?

I finally have a job that has somewhat decent dental insurance that don’t cost $500 a month and need LOTS of work done soon! But every dentist I call wants all of there money up front and I don’t seem to have $4000 laying around.

Going to the dentist to get your teeth whitened?

Right now I’m a 9th grader with braces and as soon as I get them off (Junior year) I want to go to the dentist to get my teeth whitened. I want to do this because I realize how yellow teeth are a big turn off in both personal and business worlds. But my question is is it safe to do this? Will going to the dentist and having my teeth whitened do anything to my teeth? Eat away my enamel?
Yes I realize how costly the procedure is and I plan to get a job before junior year to pay this off.
