I neglected my teeth for many years, and I haven’t gone to the dentist in very long time. Recently, I have been taking good care of them, and have a dentist appointment in 2 hours. I’m very nervous because my teeth are in bad condition. For example, I can physically feel a hole with my tongue on both my farthest back molars. Also, on the inside two front bottom teeth, I can feel a small line of decay with my tongue.

What is the dentist going to do to my teeth?

I was just at the dentist for some fillings, and I noticed that when the dentist put the needle in my mouth, he held it in there for a really long time just kind of wiggling it around and poking and sometimes not doing anything. Why is that? Please nothing gross (unless it’s true) or that’s all I’ll think about next time I go to the dentist!
